Caledonian Cowl

This used to be my knitting blog but I never had enough time to do anything with it so it is now going to be the link for Ravelry for my patterns :)

Caledonian Cowl

This is perfrect for any begining knitter whp wants to make something special for their Hubby/boyfriend/manfriend/brother. Stylecraft Life Super Chunky comes in lovely “Guy” colours and is 75% Acrylic and 25% wool giving it a fab cusie and cuddly texture that knits up thick and easy.

All this cowl is 35 stitches on 8mm/size 11 needles instead of 10mm/size 15 on the wools gauge cause the 8mm gives a bit of a tighter knit I feel.

It needs 2 100g balls and the reason why it’s so easy and simple is that you keep knitting until you reach roughly 1 and a half balls used then maybe testing it on your self to see if it’s too tight or just right. Obviously depending on how big your guy is will effect the size but don’t worry about it too much.

Once you’ve gotten to the size that you want then cast off and neatly sew in your loose ends and using some of whats left of your wool to sew the two ends together. Basically it now looks like a tube but you can add buttons and lots of different things to it. It could even be knitted in stripes using different colours. It’s all up to you.

This really is the perfect thing to knit infront of a film aswell because it knits up in just a few hours.
